Welcoming Schools National Facilitators

Human Rights Campaign Foundation Welcoming Schools Facilitators are experts who learn how to facilitate Welcoming Schools professional development modules to improve school climate for students across the country.  They attend an initial four full days of training at the Human Rights Campaign headquarters in Washington, D.C, meet monthly with an assigned Expert Trainer, participate in quarterly calls with an assigned cohort of regional facilitators, and attend quarterly webinars.

Tony Bonetti joined Rainbow Families as Director of Community Engagement and Program Coordination in 2015. Tony brings a strong background in the non-profit sector and a passion for community engagement.  Previously, Tony worked as the Director of Community Impact for the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness. There he worked to foster community based collaborations to drive systems change to end homelessness. He holds Bachelors of Arts degrees in sociology and public policy from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Master of Social Work degree with a focus in administration from the University of Connecticut. 

Ali Munshi taught 6th grade in Houston, TX before becoming an Air Force spouse and mom to two amazing kids, including a happy healthy transgender 11 year old daughter. She has worked in schools in California, Alabama, Texas and Virginia as a teacher, volunteer and long-term substitute, and is currently foster mom to three children here in Virginia. She loves teaching and connecting teachers with resources that help them build a more inclusive and accepting classroom through the Welcoming Schools program.
