Connecting, Supporting, & Empowering LGBTQ Families in the DMV
LGBTQ families and kids of all ages are invited to make friends while decorating their own dreidels, and learning how to play this beloved Chanukah game! Enjoy Chanukah treats, sing traditional songs, and listen to stories as we’re reminded of the joy this holiday season brings.
Come for an exploratory event teaching about Chanukah through fun and games! Children and adults will have opportunities to personalize a driedel, and just play.
Plus, adults can connect with other LGBTQ families.
(Your dreidel will be “dry and ready” in plenty of time for spinning during Chanukah!)
All are welcome!
Presented in partnership with Rainbow Families (the DC area’s largest network of LGBTQ-parented families) and GLOE Youth & Family — an initiative of GLOE - GLBTQ Outreach & Engagement at the Edlavitch DCJCC.
New and expectant parents! Here is your opportunity to connect with new LGBTQ parents with newborns, babies, and toddlers and parents who are expecting (either pregnant or waiting for adoption placement) in the DMV area.
Each family is requested to bring a dish to share and to BYOB.
This potluck will take place in Fairfax, Virginia at a local community center. The exact location will be provided to those who register to attend. Only families who RSVP in advance are able to attend so we can plan accordingly.

Maybe Baby Class Overview:
The Maybe Baby series is designed for prospective parents, singled, married or partnered, who are considering parenthood and interested in learning more about the options for building a family. The series covers a wide range of topics, including readiness, overview of adoption, assisted reproduction, and surrogacy; financial and legal issues; building a support network; decision making as a couple; considerations for single parenting; and the joys and challenges of being an LGBTQ-headed family. The class is designed to provide a balance of active discussion and sharing, as well as to gain practical, accurate information that helps set the foundation for moving forward.
In order to insure you get the most out of this class, please indicate your gender identity on the registration form. Your gender identity is an important piece of information for group facilitators to understand your needs as an individual or a couple, to identify the paths to parenthood that may be available to you, and assign you to the appropriate track of classes.
Location: Whitman Walker Health, 1525 14th St. NW, Washington, DC 20009
Cost: The cost is $250 per couple, $150 for singles.
