BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
Rainbow Families is a service organization, here to support and educate LGBTQ+ families, prospective parents, and allies.
If membership (or program) dues present a roadblock to participation, please send an email in confidence to our Executive Director.
Rainbow Families does not want economics to be a factor in connecting with your community and/or receiving benefit of membership.
Member Directory
Available only to members, we offer a Member Directory – a great way to connect with families whom you have met at events, but may have not exchanged contact information. Members have control of their privacy settings and whether to have their information seen by other members. In order to access the directory, you must log in to your account, where you will find it on the Dashboard
Calendar
Visit our calendar to find details on upcoming meetings, events, and outings. Members almost always have reduced (or free) registration fees.

Members-Only Resource Directory
Members have access to our ever-growing list of LGBTQ+ friendly service providers and practitioners
Rainbow Families provides this list to connect our community members with access to community resources. Rainbow Families has a desire to support queer (and queer-supportive) communities, businesses and service providers
Often, queer individuals seek out care from other queer individuals who may better understand their lived experiences; this directory allows providers to identify themselves as part of the LGBTQ+ community
Rainbow Families never sells space on our directory; this is not an ‘advertisement forum’ like many other nonprofits offer. This is a sincere effort to share qualified LGBTQ+ competent resources
Members-Only Facebook Group
Community, connection, and information sharing are fundamental to fulfilling our mission at Rainbow Families. Members have access to our closed Facebook group. Here, members can ask questions, seek advice, get support, and share parenting stories.
Reduced Fees (or no cost) for Programs & Events
Rainbow Families offers several programs and organizes numerous events throughout the year for LGBTQ families and prospective parents. Programs such as our Maybe Baby Class, Support Groups, Annual Family Conference and much more
Rainbow Families organizes numerous other activities, events, outings, workshops and playgroups throughout the year. Some of our annual events include our dances, the Family Picnic at Hillwood, weekend getaways like Family Camp Weekend and Great Wolf Lodge, visit to Virginia’s Cox Farms, pen-pal program, arts and crafts, etc. Click “Programs & Events” to learn more; the schedule is added to regularly
