Playgroups & Get Togethers

All in-person gatherings are suspended until it is deemed safe to do so. In the meantime all programming is held virtually

Rainbow Families collaborates with members to organize playgroups for infants, toddlers, and school aged children.  Groups are informal; the frequency, location and times are determined based on the needs of group participants

For over 30 year LGBTQ+ parents have witnessed the value in having their children be around other families like theirs.  This offers a needed additional sense of belonging, familiarity, and community, plus tremendous value for the parents.   As Rainbow Families expands to include all LGBTQ+ family members and structures, including trans and GNC adults and children,  the benefit only increases.    In all ways, it’s vital to celebrate and take pride in all LGBTQ+ families.

Visit the “Engage with Us” tab from the homepage for ideas on ways to connect our children, our families, and our community.   And when we resume our in-person gatherings, that information will be posted here as well as on our calendar section

Don’t see a gathering, event, or playgroup in your neighborhood?

As a volunteer-driven organization, why not volunteer to organize a playgroup in your area. We are always looking for volunteers to help initiate playgroups. Volunteers serve as the playgroup coordinator and help welcome families who attend. As a volunteer, you determine the playgroup’s date, time and location that works best for you, and we’ll help spread the word to families in your area. One-time commitments are always welcome!

If you are interested in this, post a playgroup suggestion on the Member’s Closed Facebook page, or e-mail Rainbow Families with “Playgroup” in the subject line.
