Adoption Support Group

The Adoption Support Group is a monthly support group for LGBTQ+ prospective parents currently in the process of pursuing adoption, including ‘waiting’ families, facilitated by an experienced host.

Pre-Conception Support Group

The Conception Support Group is a offered for the LGBTQ+ community (individuals and partnered) trying to get pregnant using donor sperm. We offer a safe and comfortable environment to share our stories and resources on the journey to pregnancy. The group is facilitated by a licensed therapist.

Grief & Loss Support Group

Grief and loss as it relates to family building is often not discussed, or worse, dismissed. This is particularly true for the LGBTQ+ community. This group, facilitated by an expert in the field, helps discover paths to healing and coping and more. Sessions are held monthly in 3-month cycles. Like all Rainbow Families support groups, this is a safe and welcoming space.

DSRF:  Divorced & Separated Rainbow Families – Support Group

The DSRF Support Group is a monthly, virtual, peer-focused support group for the LGBTQ+ community who are divorced or separated.  We offer a safe and comfortable environment to share our stories; available for all gender expressions, and adults with or without children.

Expecting & New Parent Support Group

This group meets monthly, for those in the LGBTQ+ community who are currently expecting a child (via adoption, surrogacy, pregnancy, foster, pregnancy), or new to parenthood with a child under 9  months.  We offer a safe and comfortable environment to share our stories and resources during the journey of expecting a child, and the first few months of parenthood.

Trans Parenting Group

Introduced in 2023, Rainbow Families is honored to provide a space for our Trans and Gender Non-Conforming Parents to share, support, and learn from one another in this very special group setting.   Facilitated monthly meetings will highlight some of the challenges (and joys) surrounding Trans parenting.

Single Parent by Choice Support Group

Rainbow Families’ Single Parent by Choice support group is for current LGBTQ+ single parents, and for prospective parents planning to become a single parent by choice.

We discuss the joys, concerns, questions, even frustrations of being an LGBTQ+ parent, PLUS doing so without a partner.   Space is limited to help maintain a sense of privacy, intimacy and safety to interact.

Non Gestational Parent Support Group

Rainbow Families’ Non Gestational Parent Support Group is for LGBTQ+ parents (and about-to-be parents) who are not gestational carriers, regardless of gender or path to parenthood, to discuss concerns, roadblocks, triumphs and experiences related to being a non-gestational parent.

During each session, the group will discuss topics related to experiences ranging from pre-conception through parenting children up to age 5.   Topics may include legal concerns, medical concerns, social concerns, parenting concerns and experiences/concerns of being “othered.”

Rainbow Families Sober Parenting Group

This group, introduced in 2023, provides a space for LGBTQ+ parents dealing with sobriety’s mental and emotional challenges. These group sessions are not a replacement for therapy or counseling, but rather a space where you can share and learn from one another in a caring, confidential environment.

During each session, the group will discuss topics related to experiences in sobriety. Topics may include habits, triggers, self-care, mindfulness, negative thinking, forgiveness, and alternative sober activities.
