Rainbow Families Conference Workshops
Informative, uplifting, engaging workshops are a cornerstone of every Rainbow Families Conference – since 2003.
3/1/2021 Update: Our Saturday workshop schedule is now filled. We do, however, have opportunities for a few remaining education/school related discussions to be held Sunday May 23rd during our School Fair.
Please submit your idea here prior to March 10 2021 – think of adjusting to ‘normal’ school this fall, ‘losing a year’, helping kids prepare for the upcoming school year, etc.
Holding a workshop provides you an opportunity to educate, inform, connect and engage, based on your profession, area of expertise, or services provided to our community. We are currently seeking proposals for workshop presentation topics.
We have several ‘tracks’ under which you might consider presenting, along with some ideas to get you started – but don’t limit yourself to the examples!
- Pathways to Parenthood
- The frustrations – who to select, who to listen to, etc. Intro to Adoption, ART, birthing & pregnancy, foster care, domestic/international, what organizations or services can you trust, trans/GNC aspects
- Familyhood
- Parenting, education, mental health, relationships, donor siblings & “23andMe”, having LGBTQ parents, faith, raising good citizens, extended family, physical fitness, intimacy/partner/marriage communication, healthy age-appropriate child discipline, trauma, relations with your child’s first family
- Community, Diversity, Life & Life Planning
- Anti-racism at home, gender-affirming topics, interracial families, planning for retirement, aging, body image, safety, legal matters, homophobia, being out at work, still managing through Covid, economic struggles, LGBTQ advocacy
The Tell Me More! button takes you to a link, providing more info – plus lets you submit a workshop topic idea.
This is a beautiful community service opportunity. Thank you.
